US purchased iPhone 14’s only have eSim and not a physical SIM card slot. Seems that few (perhaps no) Israeli carriers are supporting esim yet.
I used my iPhone 14 pro on my last trip to Israel. E-sims was not an option but I don’t like SIM cards anyway. I use my phone for business when abroad and the Verizon international plans are reliable.
I'm contemplating replacing my iPhone 7 with an IPhone 14 Pro, principally because of the cameras, battery life, and sharper display. I worry that the US iPhone 14Pro uses an eSim. Will the US-purchased phone work "as is" in Israel , or do I have to purchase and install a Sim?
So how does the Iphone 14 Pro Max E-sim card work in Japan? I read where people struggle between renting pocket Wi-Fi OR changing out their sim card but since the Iphone 14 has a E-sim card you can't switch a sim card out.

Dec 11, 2023, 2:26 AM. @Madhu I, you will need an unlocked device to use any other network other than AT&T, be it Airolo, or local Indian network. From my understanding, both physical SIM, and eSIM are either locked or unlocked.
