On one of such occasions last December, one of IELTS's owners reported that Hong Kong candidates had achieved the lowest scores in five years in the writing section.
2024年3月27日 · 2024年3月27日星期三. 教師語文能力評核考試24/25年停辦 改考IELTS及國家普通話水平測試 (13:03) 教育局公布，教師「語文能力評核」筆試和口試於2024/25學年起停辦，將以「國際英語水平測試制度」（IELTS）及「國家語言文字工作委員會普通話水平測試」取代；而由教育局舉行的「課堂語言運用」評核則維持。 根據教育局向學校發出的通函，教師需要於IELTS考試的整體評級達7.5級或以上，同一張成績單中，聆聽、閱讀、寫作和口語各項均要達到不低於7.0級的水平。 普通話科方面，教師須在測試在獲得二級甲等或以上成績。 本身已持有「語文能力評核」筆試、口試和「課堂語言運用」相關成績的教師，其資歷將繼續獲認可。
