香港天文台 （簡稱： 天文台 ；英語： Hong Kong Observatory ， 縮寫 ： HKO ）是 香港特別行政區政府部門 及 聯合國 所屬 世界氣象組織 成員，專門負責 香港 的 氣象 觀測 [註 1] ，亦兼任 地震 、 授時 、 天文 及 輻射 監測等事務，向 香港市民 發出相關的警告。 香港天文台也是 世界氣象組織 擔任網頁開發和操作之總負責氣象部門，以及 聯合國 世界氣象組織 屬下的航空氣象委員，撰寫航空氣象文章之牽頭氣象部門。 另外也是 世界氣象組織 和 聯合國亞洲及太平洋經濟社會委員會 共同主持的 颱風委員會 成員。
