The Hospital Authority (HA) is a statutory body established under the Hospital Authority Ordinance in 1990. We have been responsible for managing Hong Kong's public hospitals services since December 1991.
Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is a major acute hospital with over 2,000 beds and a staff force of about 7,000. Opened in 1963, it provides 24 hour accident and emergency service with a full complement of 15 clinical departments, and operates three specialist clinics and five general outpatient clinics.
