A minor but amusing problem arose when the 17-year-old unexpectedly received a call-up to train with Jürgen Klopp's side for the first time.
Trent Kone-Doherty arrived at the Liverpool FC Academy in July 2022 and signed his first professional contract in the following year. He was previously with his hometown club Derry City. A tricky and exciting winger blessed with great pace, Kone-Doherty started Kirkby life with the U18s as a first-year scholar in 2022-23.
Vitor Matos joined the Liverpool FC staff as elite development coach in October 2019. He moved to the Reds from FC Porto.
