根據《會計及財務匯報局條例》(第588章)，只有在會財局註冊的執業會計師、會計師事務所或執業法團，方可受委任為《公司條例》（第622章）所指的公司的核數師，或為任何其他條例的目的受委任為帳目的核數師，或以該核數師身份提供服務；不論是否獲得報酬。
