顧名思義，無索償折扣即是當保單持有人過去一段時間內（以年計）不曾索償，保險公司就會在下年續保時，提供相應百分比的保費折扣，通常是 20% - 60%。 無索償折扣全名是 No Claims Discount，是汽車保險所特有的，後來也應用於其他保險，例如醫療保險。無索償折扣 (No Claims Discount) 和 無索償獎勵 (No Claims Bonus) 的意思其實一樣，但保險公司現在多使用「無索償折扣」，以突出其折扣的本質，避免保單持有人誤會保險公司會提供金錢獎勵。 由於無索償折扣可以大幅降低車保每年的保費，保單持有人在獲取車保報價時應指明擁有多少無索償折扣，以確保報價準確。 [回到頁首]

如果你要轉保險公司，你只要在舊保單完結或取消後的 12 個月內購買新保單，並提供相關的 NCD 證明文件 (例如舊保單），就有機會可以把 NCD 轉到新的保險公司。不過要留意每間保險公司計算 NCD 的方法未必一樣。
從海外保險公司轉移
至於剛剛來港的外國人，轉移 NCD 的步驟大同小異。若想在新保險公司中享有同等 NCD，你就要向之前的保險公司索取保險證明書，證明過去十二個月內你不曾索償。
從商用車轉至私家車
你可把 NCD 從你的公司車輛轉到你的私家車。你只需要取得你的僱主或其認可代表人的 NCD 轉移同意書即可。
部份保險公司會提供無索償折扣保障（NCD 保障），讓你加進保險當中（需另外收費）。購買 NCD 保障後，即使你需在意外後索償，也仍然可以享有原來的 NCD。然而，值得留意的是這類保障設有上限。只有在評估的賠償額不多於上限時，你才可以使用此保障。此外，NCD 保障也不可以轉移至其他保險公司。 [回到頁首]
